Overview
Denise has joined the Division of Radiologic Sciences and Therapy as the new Echocardiography Instructor of Practice, Clinical Coordinator, and Director of the AS to BS Program. Denise joins the program with nearly 30 years of experience in clinical and hospital settings, specializing in multiple areas of ultrasonography. Her expertise spans Echocardiography, Vascular and General Ultrasound, including abdomen, OB/GYN, and small parts. She most recently served as the Technical Director of the Vascular labs at OSU Physicians (OSUP), where she was instrumental in maintaining high patient satisfaction, ensuring high-quality exams and achieving lab accreditation. She successfully achieved and resubmitted accreditation for the vascular labs, ensuring continued excellence and compliance with industry standards.
In 2021-2022, Denise was a clinical instructor for vascular sonography students at The Ohio State University and was awarded Clinical Preceptor of the Year by the graduating class of Sonographers recognizing her outstanding commitment to student education and mentorship.
Denise holds certifications as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Registered Vascular Technologist(RVT), and Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer(RDCS). A committed lifelong learner, she has plans to pursue a master’s degree.
She is currently developing the new Echocardiography Ultrasound program and looks forward to welcoming its first cohort of students. In her role as Clinical Coordinator and instructor, Denise is dedicated to supporting and guiding students as they prepare to become registered Echocardiographers, addressing the ever-growing career needs of skilled cardiac sonographers in the healthcare field.
