Overview

Haley Griffin joined the division of Radiologic Sciences and Therapy as the Program Director In 2022. Prior to this role, she had 12 years of clinical experience as a radiation therapist at The Ohio State University's James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute. During her time in the clinic, she was promoted to a lead therapist and worked in that role for 8 years. Before her appointment to Program Director, she regularly instructed students in the clinical environment serving as a clinical supervisor. She has also been a long-time guest instructor in the Applied Oncology course.

Haley's education includes earning a bachelor's degree from The Ohio State's Radiation Therapy program in 2010 and her Master of Science in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences in 2018. Her graduate work included a focus on leadership and education while completing her thesis on Work-Related Musculoskeletal Injuries in Radiation Therapists.

As the program director, Haley is dedicated to the success of her students by monitoring and encouraging their growth as they develop as future radiation therapists. She is passionate about oncology, patient care, patient safety, and education and hopes to develop learners to eventually hold clinical roles in the radiation therapy profession. Some approaches to the success of learning this profession are to develop case-based learning scenarios to best prepare learners to face challenges that they may come across in the clinical environment.
