Overview
I am a clinical instructor of practice in the undergraduate health science program, where I teach courses on health promotion, health and wellness coaching, and healthy lifestyle behaviors. As an educator, I draw upon my experience in health promotion, health and wellness coaching, exercise physiology, and organizational well-being to prepare future health professionals. I believe healthcare is increasingly shifting toward prevention and whole-person care, and students benefit from understanding how lifestyle behaviors, coaching strategies, and supportive environments influence health across the lifespan. My goal is to equip learners with the knowledge and skills needed to promote health, prevent chronic disease, and empower others to achieve meaningful behavior change.
In addition to my faculty role, I provide leadership for university-wide wellness initiatives that support faculty, staff, and students as a wellness program manager for Buckeye Wellness and executive director for Health Athlete. My professional experience spans both higher education and workplace wellness settings, where I have designed, implemented, and evaluated health promotion programs to improve well-being, engagement, and overall organizational health. My work focuses on advancing individual and organizational well-being through evidence-based health promotion, wellness coaching, and preventive health strategies. I am passionate about helping people develop sustainable behaviors that enhance vitality, improve quality of life, and support long-term health outcomes. I am particularly interested in translating health behavior science into practical strategies that individuals and organizations can use to thrive.
My doctoral research explored the factors that influence vitality among academic employees, examining how workplace wellness culture, psychological need support, healthy lifestyle behaviors, and burnout interact to affect individual well-being. This work contributes to the growing understanding of how universities can create environments that support employee flourishing, engagement, and sustainable performance.
