Overview

I am an Assistant Professor of Health Information Management and Systems in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Trained as a physical therapist and health and rehabilitation scientist, my work sits at the intersection of applied artificial intelligence, analytics, implementation and health system improvement.

My scholarship focuses on how data, systems thinking and emerging technologies can help healthcare organizations learn faster, make better decisions, and improve care delivery. Recent work has examined generative AI use in healthcare occupations, learning health system implementation, healthcare performance measurement, rehabilitation outcomes, and operational improvement in acute care settings. I also contribute analytic and implementation leadership to large collaborative initiatives, including the Regional Quality Improvement Hub, CARESTREAM and the PCORI-funded HEART trial.

I'm also an active educator and mentor. I have taught across undergraduate, graduate, didactic, remote and experiential settings, with primary teaching roles in Critical Phases in Life and Healthcare Business Intelligence. My educational approach emphasizes practical relevance, accessible course design and helping learners connect evidence, analytics, and real-world healthcare decisions. I'm increasingly recognized for translating complex topics in AI and healthcare innovation into usable tools, educational experiences, and operational strategies for clinicians, educators, and health systems.
