Dr. Laura Boucher joined The Ohio State University faculty in 2014 after earning her PhD in Anatomy from The Ohio State University. Her dissertation focused on the biomechanics and properties of the pediatric ankle to help decrease injury risk in high velocity trauma mechanisms, such as automobile crashes. Prior to coming to Ohio State, she was an Athletic Trainer and faculty member in the Health and Sport Sciences department at Capital University.
  

As a Certified Athletic Trainer she also is a member of the Athletic Training faculty and contributes to Ohio State's Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training program. She is a Researcher in Ohio State’s Center for Child Injury Prevention Studies in the Injury Biomechanics Research Center. Her research focuses on pediatric injury biomechanics and prevention, as well as the use of musculoskeletal ultrasound in anatomy and physical exam education.

Courses Taught

As an expert in musculoskeletal and orthopedic anatomy, her primary teaching responsibilities involve teaching gross human anatomy to a variety of student populations, including the first-year Medical students, Physical Therapy students, Occupational Therapy students, and Biomedical Engineering students.
