The School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences (HRS) is strengthening their commitment to foster a diverse community of learners and scholars in an environment of equity and inclusion.
School director, Deborah Larsen, PT, PhD recently announced the creation of the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion within HRS and named Ajit Chaudhari, PhD, FACSM as the director.
In this newly established role, Dr. Chaudhari will champion the school’s DEI efforts, lead DEI strategic initiatives, continue to co-chair our DEI committee, and align our school activities with campus initiatives; expanding our actions and strengthening our position to bring meaningful change within HRS.
This is wonderful recognition for Dr. Chaudhari, who has already demonstrated leadership in this area in an increased capacity over the last few years, including leading our anti-racism agenda and increasing his involvement in campus and school DEI efforts. Dr. Chaudhari will commit time to this new role while continuing to conduct research, teach biomechanics to graduate students, and mentor students at all levels.
