The School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences is proud to announce that Jennifer Garvin, PhD, MBA, RHIA and director for the Health Information Management and Systems division, was recently celebrated during the College of Medicine's annual Courage to Teach Induction Ceremony.
Dr. Linda Stone, faculty emerita and founder of the college’s humanism and medicine program presented Dr. Garvin with the award, stating that...
"Dr. Garvin tries to meet each student exactly where they are, and seeks to understand their story and then collaborates on the design for optimal learning. She enjoys walking with her students on their chosen pathway."
Dr. Garvin, who's also the Chair of the Humanism in Medicine Research Team, noted that she was "deeply touched and honored to be part of Courage to Teach and greatly appreciates this honor."
