John Bolte, PhD, professor in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences and director of the Injury Biomechanics Research Center (IBRC), recently received the Arnold W. Siegel International Transportation Safety Award in recognition for his exceptional contributions to the transportation safety community. He's specifically honored for his worldwide contributions in research and leadership to impact organizations and society. The formal presentation is typically given at the SAE International’s World Congress but due to COVID-19, it was not held this year and was virtually presented.
Established in 1987, this award recognizes individuals whose accomplishments include outstanding international research, innovation and contributions to crash injury protection, crash injury biomechanics and crash injury design for all mobility vehicles: land, air, sea and space.
