About Us

Dr. Colleen Spees, assistant professor in The School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences Division of Medical Dietetics and Health Sciences, explains how changing cancer survivors’ access to health food can affect their survivorship.

WEXMED Live is a collection of WexMed Talks, engaging presentations about innovative medical discoveries made my physicians and scientists of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Featured among the twenty presentations was Colleen Spees, PhD, MEd, RDN.

Dr. Spees is an Associate Professor in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences Division of Medical Dietetics. She holds Courtesy Academic Appointments in the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES) and the College of Education and Human Ecology (EHE). In addition, she is a member of OSU’s prestigious Comprehensive Cancer Center. Her research laboratory focuses on evaluating biomarkers of biobehavorial interventions in vulnerable populations. Her currently funded projects include assessing modifiable lifestyle behaviors associated with low-resource families and cancer survivors at the Garden of Hope.
