The Neurologic Movement Disorders physical therapy fellowship is a 12-month program accreditated through the American Board of Physical Therapy Residency and Fellowship Education (ABPTRFE). This fellowship is a joint venture between The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio and Norton Healthcare in Louisville, Kentucky. The multi-site fellowship is supported by respective physical therapy academic institutions at The Ohio State University School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences and Bellarmine University School of Movement and Rehabilitation Sciences. This fellowship is available to support candidates at either or both sites.
The goal of the Neurologic Movement Disorders PT fellowship is to develop subspecialty didactic, clinical skills, participation in research/knowledge translation projects and professional behaviors within the domains of practice established by the American Board of Physical Therapy Residency and Fellowship Education (ABPTRFE). The goals will be accomplished through didactic learning modules for specific movement disorders, guided clinical mentorship, participation in research, teaching experiences within the respective physical therapy programs, and additional observational and active learning experiences. This robust program offers the opportunity to develop sub-specialists in neurologic movement disorders to address the unique symptomatology, progressive and debilitating clinical course, and complex healthcare needs for patients with neurologic movement disorders. This fellowship will have the potential to leverage the educational expertise of both sites through faculty cooperation and fellow collaboration.
