Some PhD students are able to be supported on a Graduate Teaching Associateship (GTA), Graduate Research Associateship (GRA), or Fellowship. These are competitive positions and only the most qualified students will be funded. The Graduate Studies Committee nominates highly qualified applicants for the University Fellowship competition at the time of application. Nominees who are not awarded a Fellowship will receive priority for a GTA position. GRA positions are often provided by the student’s advisor and such opportunities should be discussed with the faculty member directly. The Graduate School has additional information about financial aid at Graduate Admissions.
