Admission Requirements
Undergraduate
Applicants for the Undergraduate Certificate Program must meet the following requirements to be considered for admission by the stated deadline:
- earned high school diploma
- minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale) in all coursework taken at all accredited higher education institutions; all post-secondary coursework is considered
- completion of the online undergraduate application (see link in application instructions)
- submit application and requested materials by the deadline
Graduate
Applicants for the Graduate Certificate Program must meet the following requirements. Domestic and international applicants are eligible for this certificate.
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
- eligible for admission to the Graduate School at Ohio State as evidenced by:
- a baccalaureate or professional degree (or equivalent foreign credential) from an accredited college or university, earned by the expected date of entry into the certificate program
- a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale) for the last degree earned
- for international applicants and those who have held the status of U.S. permanent resident for less than one year from the first day of the first term of enrollment and are not currently an Ohio State graduate student, submission of TOEFL or IELTS scores.
OR
- currently enrolled as a degree-seeking student in a graduate program at The Ohio State University
Submit application and requested materials by the deadline
Application Instructions
Go to the Undergraduate Certificate in Assistive and Rehabilitative Technology application website.
Select the apply tab.
- Sign in if you have an account or create a new account.
- On the welcome page, select the buttons for: Undergraduate Professional, Undergraduate Professional Certificates and Licensure and Professional Certificate Licensure Programs
- Use the following to complete the section under the Academic Plan:
- Academic Program/Plan: Assistive and Rehabilitative Technology Undergraduate Certificate
- Campus: Columbus
- Career: select Undergraduate
- Degree: leave blank
- Academic Area: select the appropriate start term and campus (Columbus)
- Select the Start Application option

- Complete all sections and upload documents before submitting your final application
Go to the Graduate Certificate in Assistive and Rehabilitative Technology application website.
Select the apply tab.
- Sign in if you have an account or create a new account.
- On the welcome page, select the buttons for: Undergraduate Professional, Undergraduate Professional Certificates and Licensure and Professional Certificate Licensure Programs
- Once on the Welcome page, you will need to select the appropriate application under Certificates and Licensure.
- Graduate Certificate Intra-University Transfer – Currently enrolled or previously enrolled in a graduate degree or graduate certificate program at Ohio State.
- Application Instructions
- Select the admission term and Campus: Columbus
- Click start Application button
- Plan/Major Information: Select Assistive and Rehabilitative Graduate Certificate
- Statement of Purpose: In 1000 words or less, describe how obtaining a certificate in Assistive and Rehabilitative Technology fits into your future career plans and goals. Include evidence such as work history, volunteer/observation history, previous coursework and other professional experiences to support your statement.
- Graduate Certificate and Licensure Programs – If you have never applied to a graduate degree or graduate certificate program at Ohio State.
- Application Instructions
- Academic Plan: Complete the requested information.
- Academic Program/Plan, please type in in “Assistive and Rehabilitative Technology Graduate Certificate”
- Campus: Columbus
- Career: Graduate
- Degree: Leave blank
- Academic Area: Select the appropriate start term
- Campus: Columbus
- Select the start application option.
