Because birth is a family event, your partner and family are included in the birth experience as much as possible here at the Maternity Center at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. We provide the comforts of home with the most advanced technology and experienced staff to give you the highest level of care, and peace of mind.

More than 5,200 Buckeye Babies were born at our Maternity Center last year. Our patients include women having vaginal deliveries, cesarean deliveries, vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC) deliveries and high-risk deliveries including multiples and preterm deliveries.

Maternity Center Tour

In-Person Classes and Tours have been temporarily cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

At The Ohio State University and Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we are monitoring and updating our response to the COVID-19 outbreak. We continue to align our recommendations with and follow guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the World Health Organization and other city, state and federal agencies.

If you are interested in our facilities, please click on the video below for a virtual tour of our maternity center. Updated visitor policy: Upon Labor & Delivery admission, one (1) support person will be provided a wristband to accompany the patient.

If you are delivering, we recommend that you park in the 12th Avenue Parking Garage and enter the hospital through the ground floor entrance opposite the parking garage. (The 12th Ave. bridge entrance is temporarily closed.) Take the Doan Hall elevator to the sixth floor.

After Hours Arrival: If arriving between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m., please park in the South Cannon or SAFEAUTO parking garage and enter the hospital through the Emergency Department.  One of our staff will provide a mask for you and your visitor and help you get to the Maternity Center.

COVID-19 tests for patients with scheduled c-sections or inductions

Patients scheduled for c-section or induction will be asked to complete testing for COVID-19 prior to admission. You will be contacted the week before your scheduled admission with testing instructions. Testing will help us determine the risks to you and our medical staff and help us better protect all of our patients. If you test positive, that doesn’t mean you won’t be admitted. It just means that our team will be aware while you’re in our care.
