Event Update

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, The Ohio State Ross Heart Hospital TriFit Challenge scheduled the weekend of July 25-26 in Columbus, Ohio has been cancelled. We’re disappointed that the current situation has forced us to make this tough decision, but our highest priority is the health and safety of our volunteers, staff members, safety and medical personnel, and especially you – our participants.

Those of you that are participating in the USA Triathlon State of Ohio Age Group Championship, the championships will be moved to September 19 and be held as part of the Harvest Sunrise Triathlon at Alum Creek State Park in Lewis Center, OH. For more details on that event, please visit the Harvest Sunrise Triathlon & Duathlon event page for more information.

Here are options available to you at this time:

1. Transfer your entry to the September 19 State of Ohio Age Group Championships
2. Provide a Refund less 15% operational support
3. Donate your entry to the TriFit Challenge Fund for heart disease research at the Davis Heart & Lung Research Institute;
4. Defer your entry to the 2021 Ohio State Ross Heart Hospital TriFit Challenge (we have requested and reserved the same weekend in 2021)

* Any USAT fees paid, you will need to contact USA Triathlon at eventservices@usatriathlon.org for your options. If you transfer to the September 19, any USA Triathlon licenses will transfer to that event.

Please email Craig Thompson with your decision before June 15. If we do not receive an email response by June 15, your entry fee will be donated to the TriFit Challenge Fund.

What is the TriFit Challenge?

The TriFit Challenge Triathlon and Duathlon is an action-packed tour through one of America’s signature metropolises and ends with an exciting finish on the campus of The Ohio State University. Race weekend consists of multiple distance options, including the Ross Tri (super sprint/mini), Ross Fit (sprint) and Ross Challenge (Olympic) triathlons and duathlon. Participants can race as individuals, as part of a relay or by teaming up with their co-workers as part of the YMCA Corporate Challenge.

Event proceeds, additional donations, and pledges go directly to the TriFit Challenge Fund at The Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center Davis Heart & Lung Research Institute and Ross Heart Hospital for much needed research into early detection of heart disease – the #1 cause of death in the United States.
