Innovation in care and research
The Division of Transplantation Surgery and Comprehensive Transplant Center have driven innovation through advanced research and excellent patient care since our first organ transplant in 1967. As the region’s only adult comprehensive transplant center, our multidisciplinary team performs an average of 600 solid organ transplants each year, making our program a top 10 transplant program by volume in the United States. Our researchers are pioneering life-altering biomedical discoveries to improve organ preservation and reduce the need for immunosuppression medication after transplant. We are committed to finding better ways to treat diseases causing organ failure to improve patient outcomes after transplantation.
