The Ohio State University’s School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences invites applications for doctorally prepared (for example, PhD, EdD, DSci, JD) full-time faculty clinical track, 12-month position within our Health Information Management and Systems (HIMS) division. The position requires a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) credential from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). We are seeking a faculty member who will contribute to our dynamic and collaborative cohort of successful scientists and teachers, master clinicians, and professional leaders.
HIMS is an excellent undergraduate program, leading to the RHIA certification, which attracts a diverse student body interested in being marketable candidates for careers right after graduation, or for students interested in going directly to graduate or professional school. We also have two new online certificates:
- Medical Coding and Health Care Data Analytics
- Usability and User Experience
The successful candidate will have a record of excellence or strong evidence of ability to meet expectations as an educator, scholar and committed professional consistent within the clinical track. Experience in mentoring others from underrepresented groups is preferred. The selected candidate will teach within the undergraduate and graduate and certificate programs in the health information management and systems division both in person and online, with experience in healthcare business intelligence, clinical coding, quality improvement and/or analytics. The candidate will advise students, supervise student activities, and mentor students in research and other projects as assigned. The selected candidate will need to establish a productive scholarship program related to focus areas. The candidate will also participate in service activities within the Division, School, College, and University as well as in their professional organizations.
