Neurologic Occupational Therapy Fellowship
Taylor Stamper, OTD, OTR/L – Raised in Perrysville, OH, a small town north of Columbus, Taylor completed her Bachelor of Health Science and General Psychology minor via an online program through the Ohio State University. The online flexibility allowed her to spearhead the Best Buddies program at tOSU’s Mansfield campus, while representing the regional branch as a 150-sesquicentennial scholar. Continuing her journey as a Buckeye, Taylor received her Clinical Doctorate of Occupational Therapy with research specialization from Ohio State this past May, during which she served on the Student Occupational Therapy Association board and was able to be a co-presenter at the 2023 AOTA Inspire national conference. Taylor joins us for the Occupational Neuro Fellowship after her fieldwork experiences in acute care at Summa hospital in Akron, OH; an outpatient rotation at OSUMC OCNA in Columbus, OH; and after completing a capstone experience with soldiers in training at Fort Moore in Columbus, GA. Taylor is passionate about research and innovative treatments, which is just one of the many reasons she chose to begin her clinical career with OSUMC’s fellowship program. In addition to the variability in presentation that the neuro population provides, Taylor enjoys working in neuro rehabilitation, and in OT in general, because of the challenge and relative joy that come with assisting and witnessing patients overcoming barriers and regaining their independence. Additional passions she is given the opportunity to explore with this population include rest and recovery and maintaining safety and autonomy within social relationships post-illness or injury. Outside of the clinic, you may find Taylor at the gym, supporting local wineries, crafting, and spending time with her friends, family and dogs.
Danica Lombardi, MOT, OTR/L – Danica is from Milan, OH. With both parents in the medical field, Danica naturally followed suit. She graduated from Xavier University in 2021 with a Masters of Occupational Therapy. Throughout college, she worked as a personal care attendant for multiple individuals with neurologic diagnoses. She was lucky enough to work with these individuals in their homes as well as to travel alongside them on vacations and business trips. Through these experiences, Danica’s problem solving skills developed to adapt care in various new environments. Danica’s love for working with the neuro population was confirmed after her fieldwork rotation at University of Toledo’s outpatient neurologic clinic. She moved to La Crosse, WI to work for a rural branch of Mayo Clinic Health System. There, she was supported in nurturing her passion and quickly became the consulting occupational therapist for the region’s wheelchair and ALS clinics. Danica returned to Ohio to take part in The Ohio State University’s neurologic fellowship to be immersed in collaborative mentorship and further develop hands-on skills and experience with high-tech interventions. Outside of the clinic, Danica enjoys tending to her house plants and trying out new recipes. Her top bucket list item is to visit all 63 national parks.
Hand and Upper Extremity Occupational Therapy Fellowship
Rebekah Wade, MOT, OTR/L Rebekah grew up in Boca Raton, FL. She received her bachelor’s degree from University of South Florida and master’s degree in occupational therapy from Medical University of South Carolina. During graduate school, she was a graduate teaching assistant for anatomy cadaver lab and completed level one and level two fieldwork rotations at hand therapy clinics. She initially began her career in the acute care setting for a year before working at an outpatient clinic in Houston, TX. the past year to gain hand therapy experience. She recently completed an advanced practice certificate in hand and upper limb rehabilitation through Thomas Jefferson University to enhance her clinical knowledge and skills. Rebekah is passionate about staying current with research and providing innovative treatments and is looking forward to advancing her clinical reasoning and teaching skills during the fellowship. During her free time, she enjoys participating in continuing education courses, exploring outdoors, baking, and spending time with friends.
